Job Summary:
H-E-B is seeking an energetic and motivated Grocery Manager to lead and oversee the daily operations of the Grocery Department in one of our stores. This leadership role is vital to fostering a culture of superior customer service, merchandising excellence, and financial performance accountability. As a Grocery Manager, you will coach and develop Partners, drive sales through strategic merchandising, and ensure operational compliance with safety and quality standards. Responsibilities:
- Exercise independent judgment to make or recommend employment and business decisions including hiring, training, promoting, and managing Partner performance.
- Lead and develop the Grocery Department team through coaching, mentoring, and training programs such as SORM and SORL.
- Prepare work schedules, manage product ordering, control inventory, and oversee department budget and payroll.
- Ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), food safety regulations, and loss prevention policies.
- Maintain optimal in-stock conditions and manage perpetual inventory through the SRS system.
- Plan, build, and maintain merchandising displays aligned with corporate plans and promotional events.
- Manage vendor relationships, ordering guidelines, and new-item introductions to maximize sales and profitability.
- Monitor and analyze financial performance metrics to meet or exceed department goals.
- Promote a culture of exceptional customer service by setting an example and holding Partners accountable.
- Ensure department compliance with all food safety and sanitation regulations.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum of 1 year of retail management experience.
- Commitment to completing the H-E-B School of Retail Management (SORM) program upon hire.
- Food Safety certification and SRS certification required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and H-E-B specific systems.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively and adapt to a fast-paced retail environment.
- Team-oriented mindset with the ability to delegate and motivate others.

Salary:
Competitive salary based on experience and location, typically ranging from $55,000 to $75,000 annually.
