Receiving Clerk

Job Summary

As a Receiving Clerk at Fiesta Mart Store #064 in Austin on I-35 South, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient receipt of all merchandise entering the store. Reporting directly to the Store Director, you will oversee the entire receiving process verifying deliveries, inspecting product quality, and coordinating with various departments to maintain inventory accuracy. This hands-on position is vital to keeping the store well-stocked and organized in a fast-paced grocery environment.

Responsibilities

• Receive and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy, quality, and damage.
• Verify purchase orders against delivered products and document discrepancies.
• Coordinate with department managers to ensure timely distribution of received goods.
• Maintain organized and clean receiving areas to promote safety and efficiency.
• Assist in unloading deliveries, using appropriate equipment and following safety protocols.
• Report any shortages, damages, or delivery issues to management promptly.
• Accurately complete receiving paperwork and update inventory records as required.
• Support store staff by preparing merchandise for stocking and display.
• Adhere to all company policies and health and safety standards.

Qualifications and Experience

• Previous experience in receiving, inventory control, or warehouse operations preferred.
• Ability to read and understand shipping documents, invoices, and product labels.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs regularly and performing physical tasks such as standing, walking, kneeling, and bending.
• Good communication skills to interact with vendors, drivers, and store personnel.
• Familiarity with inventory software or point-of-sale systems is a plus.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours including weekends.

Salary

Starting pay is competitive and commensurate with experience. Typical range: $13.00 $15.00 per hour.
